Local festivals in Esparreguera

The winter Festa Major is usually celebrated on 12 February in honour of Santa Eulàlia, patron saint of Esparreguera. The opening thunderclap and bonfire begin a celebration centred on Plaça de Santa Eulàlia, with sardana dancing, correfocs, street processions, human towers, stick dancers and local popular-culture associations.

Summer Festa Major

The summer main festival brings music, popular culture and events to streets and squares over several days in July. La Llagastada, correfocs, giants, traditional dances and the street procession showcase the work of the Colla de Diables and the Federació d’Entitats de Cultura Popular i Tradicional Catalana d’Esparreguera.

Other celebrations: La Passió and FiraPassió

La Passió d’Esparreguera is a century-old popular theatre production performed with a live orchestra and choir at the Teatre de La Passió. FiraPassió promotes it through a fair combining local commerce with performing arts, cultural and food events after the Santa Eulàlia festivities.
