Festivals in Alella

Discover the main festivals of Alella, where Sant Feliu, the grape harvest, traditional cooking and popular-culture groups fill the streets and squares.

Local festivals in Alella

The Sant Feliu Festa Major is usually celebrated over several days around 1 August. Plaça de l'Ajuntament, Can Lleonart, Rambla d'Àngel Guimerà and Hort de la Rectoria host the opening speech, bell ringing, community meals and dances, a craft fair and street parades. Giants, big-head figures, grallers, drummers, devils and trabucaires take part alongside the Town Council and local associations.

Stuffed pears and popular culture

Stuffed pears are one of Sant Feliu's distinctive flavours: families and cooks preserve the recipe and take part in a demonstration and contest devoted to the dish. Sardanes, the correfoc, giants, percussion and the festival neckerchief complete a heritage passed between generations in Alella's central public spaces.

Other celebrations: Festa de la Verema

Every September, the Festa de la Verema celebrates the grape harvest and Alella's relationship with vines and wine. Growers, wineries, restaurants, shops, organisations and volunteers take part in cultural, family, food and wine-tourism activities. Plaça de l'Ajuntament, Placeta de la Verema and nearby wineries connect the festival with the landscape and the Alella Designation of Origin.
