Local festivals in Manzanares
Manzanares holds its Fair and Festival in July and the patronal festivities of Nuestro Padre Jesús del Perdón in September. The San Isidro pilgrimage and the historical tourism event Manzanares Medieval complete the main local calendar.
Usual celebrations
The patronal festivities culminate on 14 September with services at the parish church of La Asunción, the procession of Nuestro Padre Jesús del Perdón to the Vera Cruz chapel and traditional migas in Plaza de la Constitución. The City Council, brotherhood, Julián Sánchez-Maroto band, associations, clubs and residents take part in the religious, cultural, musical and sporting events.
Other events
In early autumn, Manzanares Medieval revives the historic election of two medieval mayors, one for the commoners and another for the hidalgos, with a market, parades, tours, theatre and workshops in the old town. The San Isidro pilgrimage combines religious observances and a community gathering at the fairground in May.
