Local festivals in Carbonero el Mayor
The municipal festival calendar links San Juan Bautista, from 20 to 24 June, with the spring pilgrimage and the festivities of the Virgen del Bustar. The latter are usually held in early September in the town centre and at the chapel of Nuestra Señora del Bustar.
Usual celebration
San Juan reaches its central day on 24 June. The Bustar pilgrimage takes place in May, while the patronal festivities bring a Mass, floral offering and procession at the chapel, a parade of peñas, an opening rocket, street bands, bull runs, music and community meals in September.
Other events
Santa Águeda, Carnival, San Miguel and the Bustar pilgrimage complete the calendar. The Town Council, peñas and festival committee organise them with the participation of local residents.
