Usual celebration
The Ferias y Fiestas de Santa María de la Vega have their main day on 8 September. Mass in the New Cathedral, the floral offering, opening address, giants and big-head figures, brass bands and fireworks are joined by the Feria de Día, fairground rides at La Aldehuela and a broad cultural programme in Plaza Mayor and venues across the city.
