The Teresian celebrations are the heart of Alba de Tormes's festival calendar. The Transverberation in August and the October patronal festivities bring together devotion, culture and community life around Saint Teresa of Ávila and the town's Carmelite heritage.

The Transverberation of Saint Teresa festivities centre on 27 August. The October patronal festivities have their main day on 15 October, with the Saint's procession, and continue through to the Octave on the 22nd. Streets and squares, Teresian convents and other municipal venues host music, folklore, religious observances, peña activities, cultural events and bullfighting.
