Local festivals in Aguilar de Campoo

San Juan and San Pedro shape Aguilar de Campoo's patronal festivities. The local calendar also includes the Carnaval de la Galleta, which turns the product most closely associated with the town into a festive emblem, and the Medieval Market in the historic quarter.

Usual celebration

The patronal festivities take place around 24 June, San Juan, and 29 June, San Pedro, with several days of events in the town's streets and public spaces. The Carnaval de la Galleta has its own distinctive ritual, the Burial and Burning of the Biscuit, accompanied by mourning costumes; the Medieval Market adds crafts, demonstrations of traditional trades, music and a re-enactment of Charles V's visit to Aguilar.

Other events

The Town Hall's cultural calendar also features Carnival and the Medieval Market, with parades, music, historical recreation and family activities in the town centre.
