Local festivals in Colindres

The San Ginés festivities are usually celebrated over five days around 25 August. The festival venue beside the harbour and sports area hosts an opening speech, casetas, music, fireworks, peña activities and the popular marmita cooking contest, coordinated with the Cofradía del Bonito del Norte; the Town Council, Fishermen's Guild, associations, clubs and residents sustain the celebration.

Virgen del Carmen and Santiago

On 16 July, Virgen del Carmen maintains the town's seafaring tradition with mass and a procession organised by the San Ginés Fishermen's Guild. On 25 July, the Santiago celebration brings religious events and popular culture to Plaza de San Ginés, Calle Heliodoro Fernández and Parque del Riego, with music and folklore.

Other celebrations: San Roque

On 16 August, San Roque brings residents together around the chapel for mass, a procession and a sardine meal served by local peñas. These summer events form a cultural calendar organised with the Town Council, guilds, Municipal Folklore School and community associations of Colindres.
