Local festivals in El Sauzal

The San Pedro Apóstol patronal festivities are usually celebrated from June into early July, last several weeks and centre on 29 June. San Pedro church and the town-centre streets host masses, processions and offerings alongside the folklore festival, displays of local produce, Canarian wrestling, livestock exhibitions and music. The Bajada del Arco, the Cucaña, decorated carts and fireworks preserve some of the celebration's most distinctive features.

Virgen de los Ángeles

The Virgen de los Ángeles, co-patron of the town, shares the patronal cycle and is commemorated on 2 August. San Pedro parish, the Agrupación Musical San Pedro, the Town Council and local residents take part in services, processions and popular events that connect devotion with the municipality's traditional culture.

Other celebrations in the neighbourhoods

The local calendar includes the Santa Cruz festivities in Ravelo in the second half of July, San José Obrero with cultural activities and a neighbourhood lunch, and the Virgen de Fátima in El Hayal over a week in May. At the latter, the rosary on the 13th, children's activities, festivals and a communal meal bring together local families and associations.
