Local festivals in Yaiza
The festivities of Nuestra Señora de Los Remedios are usually celebrated over several days between late August and early September, with their main day on 8 September. Plaza de Los Remedios hosts community gatherings, folklore, traditional games, music and religious events dedicated to the patron saint. The festival committee and Town Council organise the celebration with municipal associations and performance groups.
San Marcial de Rubicón and the tradition of Femés
Femés honours San Marcial de Rubicón, patron saint of Lanzarote, for more than a week around 7 July. The opening speech in the church, solemn service, street procession with the Municipal Band and gatherings of soloists and folk groups bring residents and visitors to Plaza de San Marcial. Competitions, workshops and communal meals extend the village's participation.
Other celebrations across Yaiza
Playa Blanca celebrates Our Lady of Mount Carmel for several days around 16 July, with land and maritime processions rooted in the fishing community and events in Plaza del Carmen. Uga honours San Isidro Labrador on 15 May; Las Breñas celebrates San Luis Gonzaga in June; La Geria marks Nuestra Señora de la Caridad in August; and El Golfo holds La Pardela on the last weekend of October.
