Local festivals in Mogán
The San Antonio de Padua patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days in June in the town of Mogán, with their principal day on the 13th. The pilgrimage and offering reach Sarmiento y Coto square and bring together community groups, folk ensembles and parrandas in traditional dress, carrying local produce and accompanied by Canarian music and the shepherd’s leap on the ravine slopes.
Virgen del Carmen on the coast
Arguineguín and Playa de Mogán honour the Virgen del Carmen in July. Land and maritime processions, with the images taken aboard decorated fishing boats, express these communities’ relationship with the sea; pilgrimages, music and food gatherings accompany the participation of fishers, residents and the Town Council.
Other celebrations across the settlements
Veneguera celebrates Nuestra Señora de Fátima in August, while Barranquillo Andrés and Soria preserve festivities dedicated to San Andrés and the Immaculate Conception. San Juan in Playa de Mogán and the Bajada de la Rama in Arguineguín complete a calendar distributed across the municipality’s communities.
