Local festivals in Ingenio

The patronal festivities of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria and San Blas open Ingenio's festival calendar in January and February. In June, San Pedro and San Pablo bring the municipality together again around the parish church, Plaza de la Candelaria and the livestock fair, organised with the Festivals Department, the patronage, the parish, cultural groups and local residents.

Usual celebration

Candelaria and San Blas are usually celebrated around 2 and 3 February, with Mass, processions, a livestock fair, craft market, music and activities in Plaza de la Candelaria and La Cantonera. San Pedro and San Pablo are celebrated in late June with a triduum, the symbolic presentation of the Keys of Saint Peter, a religious service, processions, music and community gatherings.

Other cultural events

Ingenio and El Carrizal Carnival, the programme of Sociedad Musical Villa de Ingenio and festivities in districts and settlements such as Carrizal and El Burrero complete the municipal cultural calendar.
