Arucas celebrates its patronal festivities in honour of San Juan Bautista, with 24 June as the main day and Plaza de San Juan as one of the central venues.
Usual celebration
The celebration combines religious events, a pilgrimage and offering to the patron saint, an opening speech, music, theatre, exhibitions and sporting competitions. The Town Council, cultural and sports groups, musicians, residents and visitors participate in activities across the historic centre and other municipal venues.
Other cultural events
The Canarias Jazz & Más Festival, which closed the patronal programme on 3 July, adds to the municipality's annual cultural calendar.
