Zierbena's festive calendar is shared between La Arena, El Puerto, La Cuesta and other districts, with celebrations for San Ignacio, the Virgen del Puerto and San Roque involving the Town Council, festival committees, cuadrillas, associations, clubs and residents.
Usual celebration
San Ignacio's principal day is 31 July in La Arena; the Virgen del Puerto is celebrated on 15 August and San Roque on 16 August. Programmes last several days and combine religious events with music, txosnas, community meals, competitions, children's activities, bolos a katxete and gatherings connected with the harbour and beach.
Other events
The local calendar retains maritime and sporting activities at the Port of Zierbena and La Arena, together with rowing, seafaring food events and heritage around the church of San Román and chapel of Nuestra Señora del Puerto.
