Local festivals in Erandio

Erandio’s festival calendar is organised around its neighbourhoods and its best-attended celebrations are concentrated in August. Astrabudua’s San Lorenzo festival is usually celebrated over several days around the 10th, Erandiogoikoa celebrates Andra Mari and Altzaga holds its San Agustín festivities near the end of the month.

Neighbourhoods, txosnas and popular culture

Local committees and associations organise txosnas, street parades, music, dance, romerías, Basque rural sports, food competitions and family events. Squares such as Mendiguren and Irailaren 23a, together with the streets of Astrabudua and Altzaga, become meeting places for residents, cuadrillas and visitors.

Other events and cultural traditions

The municipality also maintains events linked to Basque folklore, including the recreation of a traditional wedding in Astrabudua, with participants wearing customary dress and a romería in the neighbourhood. Musical groups, dantzaris, neighbourhood organisations and the Town Council sustain this cultural network throughout the year.
