Basauri local festivals

The Sanfaustos, held around Saint Faustus' Day on 13 October, are Basauri's main celebration. The Herriko Taldeak groups sustain its participatory character, filling squares, streets and stages with music, activities and community gatherings.

The Eskarabillera, a figure associated with the women who collected coal from railway tracks and industrial spoil heaps, is one of the festival's distinctive symbols. The San Miguel neighbourhood also holds its own festive cycle, separate from the central Sanfaustos celebrations.
