Local festivals in Llodio

The San Roke patronal festivities fill the second half of August in Laudio/Llodio. They begin around the Assumption and end on the final Sunday of the month with the San Roke Brotherhood's communal meal, a tradition documented since 1599.

Usual tradition

The txupinazo, street music and the involvement of cuadrillas, associations, neighbourhoods and residents shape several days of events in Herriko Plaza, Lamuza park, Aldai plaza, Zumalakarregi and the txosna area. The calendar distinguishes San Roque Day, San Rokezar, Garlic Day, Cuadrillas Day, Baserritarra Day, Morcilla Day and Brotherhood Day.

Programme for 2026

The opening address on 14 August, delivered by Laudioko Susterrak Handball Club, preceded the principal events on 15, 16 and 17 August and from 26 to 30 August, with further activities between them. The 15th was the txupinazo, the 16th San Roque, the 17th San Rokezar, the 26th Garlic Day, the 27th Cuadrillas Day, the 28th Baserritarra Day, the 29th Morcilla Day and the 30th Brotherhood Day. The town council organised every event not assigned to another body.

Local public holidays in 2026

Álava's official labour calendar sets 28 April, San Prudencio, as the holiday for the whole historical territory and 17 August as Llodio's municipal holiday. These are the two non-working days applying in the town; they do not cover every day in the San Roke programme.

Other events

The traditional calendar also includes Santa Águeda, Santa Lucía, San Juan, Santa Ana, San Ignacio and San Bartolomé, the latter held at its chapel in Larra on 24 August.
