Local festivals in Sineu
Sineu has two principal festival cycles: Sant Marc and Sa Fira in spring and the Festes de la Mare de Déu d'Agost in summer. The market, agricultural and livestock traditions, music and participation by local organisations give both celebrations their identity.
Usual celebrations
Sant Marc is celebrated on 25 April and leads into Sa Fira, an agricultural and livestock fair whose origins date back to the 14th century. The August festivities centre on the Assumption, with events in the streets and squares, music, fireworks and the traditional Corregudes d'Es Cos races. Local organisations, volunteers and residents participate in the annual programmes.
Other events
Holy Week, the Martti Wallén International Music Festival and the Mercadets Nocturns Solidaris extend Sineu's cultural calendar through spring, summer and September.
