Local festivals in Grado

The Santiago and Santa Ana festivities are usually celebrated on 25 and 26 July. The Santiago and Santa Ana Brotherhood and the Council organise religious observances, music, theatre, exhibitions, visits and gatherings that extend the festive atmosphere through much of the month, using the town's streets, squares and cultural venues as their setting.

Primera Flor and market tradition

On the weekend after Easter, Grado holds the Primera Flor, recognised as a Festival of Tourist Interest in Asturias and linked to the Moscona town's medieval trading tradition. The historic centre hosts the market and the Asturian PGI faba bean and related products competition, bringing together producers, artisans, local shops, music and food. Six Sundays later, the Segunda Flor and Mercadón de Primavera take place.

Other celebrations: fairs and festivals across the council

The Wednesday and Sunday markets, Santiago Craft Fair, spelt competition and livestock fairs maintain Grado's commercial and social role. Villages across the council area also hold pilgrimages and religious services dedicated to figures including Nuestra Señora de Cébrano, San Bartolo, San Miguel, San Roque and the Rosary, organised by parishes, associations and local communities.
