Local festivals in San Juan de Aznalfarache

The San Juan Bautista patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days around 24 June at the festival venue beside the Guadalquivir. The ceremonial lighting, marquees run by associations and brotherhoods, concerts, local dance groups, fairground attractions and bonfires make the celebration a meeting point for neighbourhoods across the municipality.

The patron saint and local participation

The solemn service dedicated to San Juan Bautista accompanies the popular events. The brotherhoods of Los Ángeles, El Rocío, El Carmen, San José Obrero and San Juan Bautista take part through the festival marquees and wider celebrations, alongside local performers, dance academies and community associations.

Other celebrations: Corpus Christi and the procession calendar

Corpus Christi forms part of San Juan de Aznalfarache’s traditional celebrations, with processions organised by the Sagrados Corazones, San José Obrero and San Juan Bautista brotherhoods. The local calendar also preserves processions for the Virgen de la Paz, Virgen del Carmen and Virgen del Rosario, as well as Holy Week processions and the Rocío pilgrimage.
