Local festivals in Osuna

The bicentenary May Fair is usually celebrated for several days in mid-May at the El Ejido fairground. Lighting the entrance arch opens a cycle of casetas, music, a horse parade from Calle San Pedro, equestrian displays, rides and bullfighting events that brings together families, local clubs, riders, traders and visitors.

Organisation and festive heritage

The Town Council, casetas, associations, equestrian groups, fairground workers and municipal services sustain a fair recognised as being of Tourist Interest in Andalusia. Streets named after flamenco forms, the Caseta Municipal and the fairground combine community life, music and popular tradition.

Other celebrations: Holy Week and patron saints

Every spring, Holy Week moves through the monumental streets with brotherhoods, bands, saetas and important religious images among churches, convents, palaces and Plaza Mayor. On the last Sunday in April, the Nuestra Señora de Consolación pilgrimage leads decorated carts and families towards El Calvario and Cortijo del Rosso; the patron is honoured again on 8 September. San Arcadio, Osuna's patron saint, is carried in procession from his chapel every 12 January.
