Mairena del Aljarafe marks San Ildefonso in January and brings its neighbourhoods together at the Feria de Mairena, the municipality's principal late-June celebration.
Usual celebration
San Ildefonso is usually observed on 23 January with events at the parish church and other municipal venues. The fair lasts five days in the final week of June and combines casetas, fairground rides, illuminations, music and neighbourhood gatherings. The Town Council coordinates the celebration with performers, associations, fairground operators and municipal services.
Other events
The Carnival brings together an opening speech, carnival groups, floats, costumes, a street parade, the Burial of the Sardine and participation by local associations and community groups.
