Local festivals in La Algaba

The pilgrimage of the Purísima Concepción de María Coronada is usually celebrated over several days in June. After the pilgrims' Mass at Nuestra Señora de las Nieves Church, the Simpecado travels to the El Aral chapel accompanied by pilgrims, traditional pipe-and-drum musicians and decorated carts. The area around Plaza de la Purísima hosts communal gatherings, music and shared traditions.

Santa Marta and the patronal festivities

On 28 and 29 July, La Algaba honours Santa Marta. Bugle calls, popular games, eve illuminations, the búcaros custom, the religious service and the procession form a recognisable sequence involving the parish, Town Council and many residents.

Other celebrations: fair and folk culture

In September, the Feria y Fiestas Populares brings together casetas, an opening address, music, bull-related events and community gatherings at the fairground. The May Cross and carnival complete a calendar sustained by associations, brotherhoods, local clubs and cultural organisations.
