May Fair and Virgin of Grace

The Carmona Fair preserves its documented livestock origins from the 15th century, although today coexistence in the booths is its centre. Its traditions include lighting, horse riding and horse riding, the booth-exorno contest, flamenco performances and closing fireworks. The City Council, cassette players, the Peña La Giraldilla, associations, fairgrounds, bands and solidarity entities participate.

Carmona Fair is held over five days at the Real de la Feria, with free-entry casetas, concerts in the municipal caseta, horse parades and children’s activities.

The other employer reference is the Virgen de Gracia, on 8 September. The usual celebration combines worship and a procession through the historic centre, with the church of Santa María and the surroundings of the patron saint as central places. The Brotherhood of the Virgin of Grace, parishes, associations and neighbors participate. This stable tradition differs from the specific programme of the May Fair.
