Local festivals in Vélez-Málaga

The Real Feria de San Miguel is the principal celebration in the capital of La Axarquía. It links the historic centre and fairground through an opening proclamation, daytime fair, evening marquees, music, dance, rides and children's activities, with local clubs, brotherhoods, dance schools and artists taking part.

Usual celebration

The fair is organised around 29 September, the feast of San Miguel. The proclamation opens proceedings in Plaza de la Constitución; the Feria de Día then fills the town-centre streets and squares while the Feria de Noche is based at the fairground. The programme combines performances, marquees, food, dancing and family activities.
