Local festivals in Benahavís
The Benahavís Fair and Festivities are usually celebrated over several days in mid-August. Illuminations, street gatherings and the fairground accompany events honouring the Virgen del Rosario. A flamenco mass and the patron's procession bring together the parish, Town Council, flamenco groups, families and visitors.
Virgen del Rosario pilgrimage
Around 7 October, the town usually accompanies the Virgen del Rosario to Charco de las Mozas. The chapel beside this natural site hosts the Eucharist and a community gathering, strengthening the connection between the patron, the town centre and Benahavís's landscape.
Other celebrations: Holy Week and El Huerto
The Nuestra Señora de los Dolores y Santo Cristo brotherhood maintains the Good Friday procession. On Easter Sunday, El Huerto is prepared in the square: a shelter decorated with produce from the fields and a large ring of bread at Christ's feet. The Virgin comes out to meet him and both images return in procession, in one of the municipality's most distinctive religious traditions.
