Columbian Festivals and Virgen de la Cinta
The Fiestas Colombinas commemorate the departure of the ships on the Columbian voyage on 3 August 1492. This is their main date, and the celebration usually lasts for several days between late July and early August.
The Recinto Colombino hosts casetas, rides and concerts, while the estuary and other urban spaces preserve the festival's maritime and historical connection. Traditions include switching on the lights, social life in the casetas, family activities and music. Participants include the Town Council, caseta operators, fairground operators, performers, associations, families, residents and visitors.
