Local festivals in Gibraleón
The San Roque patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days in mid-August. The patron's image, venerated in San Juan Bautista Church alongside Santa Ana, is carried through the streets in procession and brings Olontense brotherhoods, associations and families together.
Art during the patronal festivities
The National Painting Competition traditionally opens its exhibition at the Centro Olontense de Arte Contemporáneo during the San Roque festivities. Maintained by the Town Council since the mid-20th century, this event connects the celebration with artistic creation and the municipal art collection.
Other celebrations: San Lucas Fair
In October, the San Lucas Fair preserves a livestock tradition documented since 1323. The fairground combines livestock trading, particularly horses, with the Regional Crafts Fair, the Olontense business exhibition, open marquees, rides and traditional stalls.
