Local festivals in Sanlúcar de Barrameda
Feria de la Manzanilla, the festivities of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad and horse racing on the beach define Sanlúcar's festive calendar.
Usual celebration
The patronal festivities honour Nuestra Señora de la Caridad Coronada and culminate on 15 August with the procession from the basilica. On the eve, families, confraternities and associations make salt carpets in the town centre and Barrio Alto. Feria de la Manzanilla lasts six days at the fair venue on La Calzada de la Duquesa Isabel, with casetas, music, dancing, a horse parade and the participation of wineries and local groups.
Programme for 2026
Feria de la Manzanilla ran from 2 to 7 June. The municipal programme opened with the lighting ceremony and the Julián Cerdán Music Band; the Municipal Caseta hosted performances and the sevillanas competition, while Friday and Saturday were reserved for horses and carriages. Music and a bullfighting event closed the edition on Sunday.
Local public holidays in 2026
The Andalusian Government resolution set 8 June, the post-fair Lunes de Resaca, and 19 October, the transferred San Lucas day. They are the two local non-working days and do not cover the whole fair or the patronal festivities.
Other events
Horse racing on the beach, the maritime Virgen del Carmen celebrations and the commemoration of the First Circumnavigation round out the local calendar.
