Local festivals in Conil de la Frontera
The Nuestra Señora de las Virtudes Fair and Festivities are usually celebrated over several days around 8 September, the patron's feast day. Illuminations, casetas, rides and music fill the fairground, while the service, floral offering and procession connect the celebration with its religious tradition.
San Sebastián pilgrimage
The pilgrimage dedicated to the patron saint is usually celebrated in January. The image of San Sebastián travels on an ox-drawn cart from the town church to the pine woods of El Colorado, accompanied by pilgrims, horse riders, carriages and groups who share a day of food, music and community life in the countryside.
Other events: Virgen del Carmen and seafaring tradition
On 16 July, the fishing community honours the Virgen del Carmen. After the service, the image is carried to the fishing harbour and travels along the coast in a maritime procession followed by decorated boats; the celebration ends with the return through the white streets of the fishing quarter. The Town Council, religious associations, fishing organisations and residents take part in the municipal festival calendar.
