Local festivals in Arcos de la Frontera

The San Miguel Fair is usually celebrated from late September into early October at the fairground. The switching-on of the lights opens several days of marquees, live music, sevillanas dancing, community gatherings and events for different age groups.

Holy Week and Toro del Aleluya

During Holy Week, brotherhoods and confraternities process through the streets of the historic centre, following routes that pass churches such as San Pedro, Santa María, San Francisco and San Juan de Dios, as well as Plaza del Cabildo and Cuesta de Belén.

On Easter weekend, Toro del Aleluya brings bull runs and children’s mock runs to the old town. Calles Gomeles and Corredera are among the traditional starting points, and the festival involves the local bullfighting association and the Municipal Department of Festivals.

Other celebrations

The Santísimo Cristo del Romeral pilgrimage leads pilgrims from the fairground to the Romeral chapel, accompanying the simpecado in a day of community and devotion.
