La Melonera 2026 festival programme in Arganzuela

The main La Melonera festivities run from Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 September 2026, with related activities between 31 August and 26 September. The Madrid Río esplanade, Nave de Terneras and Ermita Virgen del Puerto are the principal venues.

Monday 31 August 2026

  • 11:00-12:30: intergenerational La Melonera water-bottle workshop for Madridmayor CMM members and young people from the district, CMM Luca de Tena, Calle de Canarias, 17.

Tuesday 1 September 2026

  • 11:00-12:00: line-dancing masterclass for Madridmayor CMM members, Nave de Terneras.
  • 17:00-20:00: dancing with a live orchestra for Madridmayor CMM members, Nave de Terneras.

Wednesday 2 September 2026

  • 11:00-12:00: Taller de Memorias de Arganzuela, for Madridmayor CMM members registered through older people's centres, CMM Casa del Reloj.
  • 17:00-20:00: dancing with a live orchestra in the games room, CMM Luca de Tena, Calle de Canarias, 17.

Thursday 3 September 2026

  • 11:00-12:30: intergenerational La Melonera fan-painting workshop, Centro Intergeneracional Ouka Leele, Calle del Sodio, 16.
  • 19:00: opening of the Arganzuela Awards 2026 exhibition, the 40th painting and 18th photography editions; open until 12 September, La Lonja gallery at Centro Cultural Casa del Reloj.
  • 20:00: first part of the Arganzuela Popular Music Awards 2026 final, Nave de Terneras.
  • 20:30: Placeres Culpables concert, fairground stage, Madrid Río esplanade.
  • 22:00: Dollar Selmouni concert, fairground stage, Madrid Río esplanade.

Friday 4 September 2026

  • 10:00-14:00: free melon and sangria tasting, Santa María de la Cabeza and Guillermo de Osma municipal markets.
  • 18:00: Máximo Óptimo Circo family circus show, Plaza de Rutilio Gaci.
  • 20:00: second part of the Arganzuela Popular Music Awards 2026 final, Nave de Terneras.
  • 21:00: La Frontera concert, fairground stage, Madrid Río esplanade.
  • 22:30: Rafa Sánchez of La Unión in concert, followed by Montana and then Crocan until the festivities finish, fairground stage, Madrid Río esplanade.

Saturday 5 September 2026

  • 10:00-14:00: free melon and sangria tasting, Santa María de la Cabeza and Guillermo de Osma municipal markets.
  • 11:00: participatory games, workshops and face painting, rear area of Nave de Terneras and Madrid Río esplanade.
  • 11:30: children's show Lucinda, la Bruja by Compañía Sonrisas Mágicas, Nave de Terneras.
  • 12:00: Madrid Municipal Police Dog Unit demonstration, followed by a foam party with Madrid Fire Brigade, rear area of Nave de Terneras and Madrid Río esplanade.
  • 20:00: performance by the winning group in the Arganzuela Popular Music Awards 2026, fairground stage, Madrid Río esplanade.
  • 20:30: Los Chisperos de Arganzuela, with guest performer María Rodríguez, Nave de Terneras.
  • 21:00: Marazu concert, fairground stage, Madrid Río esplanade.

  • From 09:00: 35th La Melonera Road Race, with 10 km, 5 km and children's races, Madrid Río.
  • 11:30: solemn Mass in honour of the Virgen del Puerto, accompanied by the Coral de Arganzuela; followed by a procession around the chapel with the Banda de Música de Moratalaz and Los Chisperos Arganzuela, Ermita Virgen del Puerto.
  • 12:00: children's show Los Tres Cerditos by Compañía Okarino Trapisonda, Nave de Terneras.
  • 19:00: Isabel Fayos, Nave de Terneras.

  • 11:00-13:00: adult pickleball round robin, a single category for over-15s, with pairs registering by 5 September or until places fill, CDM Marqués de Samaranch, Paseo Imperial, 20.

  • Time not specified: La Melonera Football Tournament for under-12, under-14 and under-16 boys, IDB Parque de la Arganzuela football ground, Paseo de Yeserías, 10.
