2026 Festa Major of Les Borges Blanques programme

The Festa Major runs from 4 to 8 September 2026, with preludes from 28 August and two subsequent activities on 10 September. Sunday the 6th is the main day.

Notice: the programme may change. Check the council's information before travelling. Activities requiring tickets, reservations or registration remain subject to the conditions stated by the council.

Friday 28 August 2026

  • 19:00: opening of the exhibition “Edith, one hundred years. A life devoted to art” at Espai Macià; organised by Laberint Blau.

Sunday 30 August 2026

The council corrected the time and moved the I Concurs Popular d'Orelletes from Plaça de l'U d'Octubre to Placeta del Terrall.

  • 15:00-19:00: preparation of the dough in the lower rooms of the Centre Cívic.
  • 19:30: joint cooking begins in Placeta del Terrall, using extra virgin olive oil from local producers supplied by the council.
  • 20:30: orelletes are presented to the judges; each group must submit at least 25.
  • 21:30: prize-giving.

Tuesday 1 September 2026

  • 18:00: bell-ringing workshop and visit to the bell tower; organised by the Escola de Campaners de les Borges Blanques.
  • 19:00: Festa Major botifarra card-game competition at the Terrall; register in person or by telephone with the council's revenue office by 21 August.

Wednesday 2 September 2026

Dimecres Borjut takes place in Parc del Terrall and is organised by Diables i Tabalers de les Borges Blanques “Els Borjuts”.

  • 18:00: Barbesfest inflatables and music by The Rimjoob's.
  • 18:30: circus workshop by Sac Espectacles and fire workshop.
  • 21:00: communal llonganissada.
  • 22:30: comedy night with Guillem Estadella, a contributor to Els Teloners on Versió RAC1.
  • 23:30: fire and tabalers show.
  • 00:00: MC Rius.

Thursday 3 September 2026

  • 20:30: Magno, the mentalist who challenges your mind, at El 9 Syrah; organised by El 9 Syrah.
  • 21:30: Festa Major bingo at El Niu; organised by El Niu.
  • 22:00: “Strafalari” show with Mag Lari in the covered pavilion; doors at 21:30, tickets €10.

Friday 4 September 2026

  • 11:00-16:30: “Parc Refrescant” at the municipal swimming pools; free admission.
  • 12:00: general bell peal announcing the Festa Major, by the Escola de Campaners.
  • 18:30: II “Infanfernal” competition in Plaça de l'U d'Octubre.
  • Immediately afterwards: gegantons and capgrossos street parade; organised by Gegants Vivall, Gegants de les Borges Blanques, Estimem els Gegants and Diables Grup Recerca.
  • 19:00: second bell peal announcing the Festa Major, by the Escola de Campaners.
  • 20:00: presentation of the Premi Olivera d'Or to the Borgenc/a and Garriguenc/a of the year, in Sala Maria Lois.
  • From 20:00: jovent i no tan jovent dinner in the courtyard of Institut Josep Vallverdú; organised by Grup de Joves.
  • 20:30: children's correfoc in Plaça de l'U d'Octubre, by the children's diables i diablesses group of Grup Recerca.
  • 23:00: Zona Penyes concert with DJ EliEli, Buhos, Naim, Sexenni and Monö Party, with DJ Gabry López and DJ Anna Gisbert; doors at 22:30, ticket arrangements depend on resident status.

Saturday 5 September 2026

  • 09:00: communal breakfast at Finca del Pla de Fallivé; organised by Societat de Caçadors de les Borges.
  • 10:00: billiards championship; organised by Club Billar Borges.
  • 10:30: bitlles game in Parc del Terrall.
  • 11:30: traca bell peal by the Escola de Campaners.
  • Immediately afterwards: procession by the trumpet and drum band formed by Escola de Música pupils, accompanying the Canó del Salo and the geganteres groups.
  • 12:00: Festa Major opening address by contributors to the Banc de Memòria Oral de les Borges Blanques.
  • Immediately afterwards: lighting of the traditional Festa Major traca in Plaça de l'U d'Octubre.
  • From 12:00: traditional wooden games in Parc del Terrall, with La Cremallera Teatre for children aged 3 and over and Indrets de Joc for ages 0-3.
  • 13:00: musical vermouth at La Bodega; organised by La Bodega.
  • 16:00: assembly of the gegants in Plaça Europa.
  • 17:30: gegants bell peal by the Escola de Campaners.
  • 17:30: 43rd Trobada de Gegants, Grallers i Correfocs in Plaça de l'U d'Octubre, recognised as a Festa Popular d'Interès Cultural.
  • 20:00: afternoon dance with the Saturno orchestra in the covered pavilion.
  • 21:15: correfoc begins in Plaça de l'U d'Octubre with the diables groups of les Borges Blanques: Borjuts, Grup Recerca, Dimonis Gertans and Diables Foc Foll de Bellpuig.
  • 23:30: concert, dance and cover versions with the Saturno orchestra in the covered pavilion.
  • 23:30: Zona Penyes concert with Javier Solo, Boikot, Coco and DJ Capde; doors at 23:00, ticket arrangements depend on resident status.

Sunday 6 September 2026

  • 08:00: fishing competition; organised by Associació Els Pescarrames.
  • 09:00: popular and competitive orienteering across Serra dels Bessons and Roques Guàrdies; organised by Associació Esportiva Catalunya Aventura and Ponent Orientació.
  • 10:00: Aqua Party Barbe's Fest in Plaça Europa, with a 70-metre slide for ages 8 and over and Aqua Kids for ages 2 and over; participants over 16 may bring an original inflatable.
  • 10:00: simultaneous chess games at the Terrall, open to everyone; organised by Club Escacs de les Borges Blanques.
  • 11:30: sardana groups competition with Cobla Reus Jove in Plaça de l'U d'Octubre; organised by Agrupació Sardanista and Colla Brut Natura.
  • 11:30: solemn bell peal for the main Mass, by the Escola de Campaners.
  • 12:00: Orfeó Terrall performs a sung Mass and Festa Major concert in the parish church.
  • 12:00: 2nd Concurs Garriguenc de Llançament d'Espardenya on the steps of Cafè Terrall; organised by Bar Terrall.
