Cuéllar Festival and Running of the Bulls 2026 programme

Cuéllar's principal festival runs from 28 August to 3 September 2026, with preliminary events from Wednesday 26 August. The official programme combines worship of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, five encierros, bullring events, music, peñas, theatre and family activities.

Notice: the programme may change. Check the council source and follow all safety instructions before taking part in an encierro.

Wednesday 26 August

  • 19:30: Bajada de la Virgen del Rosario from Parroquia de San Miguel to Capilla de Santo Tomé, accompanied by A por Ellos dulzainas; Eucharist follows.

Friday 28 August

  • 18:00: limonada gathering in Plaza de la Huerta Herrera.
  • 18:30: recortes competition with young bulls from Isaías y Tulio Vázquez; afterwards, official visits and presentation of banners at the peñas.
  • 22:00: fairground lights switched on, A por Ellos dance and festival scarf placed on the bull statue, Paseos de San Francisco.
  • 23:00: Dalí, a Mecano tribute, Plaza Mayor.
  • 00:00: Calle Ávila Live, I Toros Sound.

Saturday 29 August

  • 12:30: Mass in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Capilla de Santo Tomé.
  • 13:00: Peña La Plaga social round; 15:00: IV Plaguella at Bar Temple.
  • 19:30: official opening with bell ringing, procession to San Miguel, appointment of the Corregidora and Damas, address by Agrupación Coral Cuellarana, «A por Ellos» and peña parade.
  • 00:00: night-time baile de rueda from Plaza de los Coches and Orquesta Marsella in Plaza de la Soledad.
  • 01:00: Mobile Disco Locos por la Música, Plaza de la Huerta Herrera.

Sunday 30 August

  • 08:30: dawn music and parade; 09:30: first encierro with Saltillo bulls, followed by a probadilla.
  • 11:00: giants and cabezudos from Plaza Mayor; 11:30: solemn Mass at San Miguel.
  • 12:30: wineskin drinking competition, bingo and raffle in Plaza Mayor; 14:30: social round.
  • 18:00: parade to the bullring; 18:30: Saltillo bullfight with José Carlos Venegas, Gómez del Pilar and Juan de Castilla.
  • 20:00: family theatre, Ser centella, Iglesia de San Francisco.
  • 22:00: Noche Amarilla and garlic soup, Calle Las Parras; 23:30: Black Ice AC/DC tribute, Plaza de la Huerta Herrera.

Monday 31 August

  • 08:30: dawn music and baile de rueda; 09:30: second encierro with Partido de Resina bulls, probadilla and youth run.
  • 11:00: giants and cabezudos; 12:00: XIII Descenso de San Pedro from Plaza Mayor; 13:30: I Encierro del Chupete from Huerta Herrera; 14:00: social round.
  • 18:00: parade; 18:30: Partido de Resina bullfight with Damián Castaño, Colombo and Atienza.
  • 18:00-21:00: inflatables at Colegio La Villa; 20:30: afternoon session with Flau & Cía from Los Coches.
  • 23:30: Orquesta La Pikante, Plaza de la Soledad.

Tuesday 1 September

  • 08:30: dawn music; 09:30: third encierro with Rosa Rodríguez bulls, probadilla and youth run.
  • 11:30: giants and cabezudos; 12:30: children's piñata, Paseos de San Francisco; 14:00: foam party, Huerta Herrera; 14:30: Chateo de los Huevos.
  • 17:00: Álida Jiménez and Marina Solís at Residencia El Alamillo; 19:00: repeat performance at Centro de Mayores Valdihuertos.
  • 18:00: parade; 18:30: mounted bullfight using Rosa Rodríguez stock with Francisco Palha, Guillermo Hermoso and Sebastián Fernández.
  • 19:00-20:30: Toro Amarillo, face painting and games; 20:00-21:00: DJ at Peña La Plaga.
  • 21:00: street theatre, Spain is Diferen, from the town hall; 22:00: Verbenilla del Huevo Frito, raffles and bingo in Huerta Herrera; 23:30: Partiendo la Pana, Plaza de la Soledad.

Wednesday 2 September

  • 08:30: dawn music; 09:30: fourth encierro with Beteta young bulls, probadilla and youth run.
  • 13:30: II Encierro del Chupete from Huerta Herrera; 14:00: Chateo del Jamón.
  • 18:00-20:00: face painting beside Centro de Recepción de Visitantes.
  • 18:30: The Canario's Fest On Road with DJs, Plaza de los Coches.
  • 20:00: La granja theatre, Iglesia de San Francisco; 23:30: Orquesta Tritón, Plaza Mayor.

Thursday 3 September

  • 08:30: dawn music; 09:30: fifth encierro with Aurelio Hernando young bulls, probadilla and youth run.
  • 13:00: tronadera and baile de rueda to Plaza Mayor; 14:30: peña social round.
  • 18:00: parade; 18:30: picador novillada with Aurelio Hernando stock and Gonçalo Alves, Salvador Hermoso and Jorge Oliva; peña parade and «A por Ellos» follow.
  • 23:00: Cañoneros concert, Plaza de la Soledad.
