Festivals in Requena
Discover the main festivals and traditions of Requena, shaped by wine, the grape harvest and village life.
Local festivals in Requena
The Feria y Fiesta de la Vendimia is usually celebrated over several days from late August into early September. The proclamation of the festival queens and courts, Noche de la Zurra, grape treading and blessing of the first must turn Requena’s streets and squares into a celebration of its winemaking identity.
Wine, music and local participation
Noche del Labrador, Noche del Vino, the float parade and the burning of the wine monument form part of the tradition. The Asociación Fiesta de la Vendimia, the Town Council, wineries, local clubs and residents participate in events across the town centre, linked with the wine fair and the district’s food culture.
Other celebrations
The villages across the extensive municipality preserve their own patronal festivals and community gatherings. In the historic centre, religious celebrations, cultural events and markets complete a calendar connecting La Villa and the modern town with Requena’s agricultural landscape.
