Local festivals in Oliva

The Moors and Christians festivities are usually celebrated over several days during the third week in July and are officially recognised as a festival of regional tourist interest. The proclamation and Noche del Puchero precede the Christian and Moorish entrances, the landing on the beach, the embassies and the arquebus battle.

Comparsas, music and gunpowder

Captains, ambassadors, standard-bearers and comparsas parade through the town accompanied by bands, dulzainas and percussion. Festival associations and residents organise and take part in the pageantry, costumes, gunpowder and final meeting of the two sides.

Other celebrations: Fallas

In March, the Fallas committees transform the streets with the plantà of the monuments, marching bands, mascletaes and the flower offering. The Nit del Foc and the cremà bring together gunpowder, light and neighbourhood participation at the close of the celebration.
