Local festivals in Carlet

The feast of Sant Bernat, Maria and Gràcia is usually celebrated on 23 July. A pilgrimage travels from the town centre to the Sant Bernat chapel, where the brotherhood, parishes and many residents take part in Mass, the presentation of children to the patron saint and a communal breakfast beneath the mulberry trees.

Major festivities and folk culture

The major festivities bring together religious celebrations, local bands, dancing, street parades and fireworks in September. The processions dedicated to Santa Maria de Carlet and the patron saints, together with the traditional shawl parade, involve brotherhoods, Fallas commissions, musical groups and cultural organisations.

Other celebrations: lanterns, San Blas and Fallas

In July, children and families maintain the Lantern Festival, making lanterns from watermelons and carrying them through the streets. On 3 February, San Blas includes the blessing of food and aniseed rolls; in March, the Fallas commissions complete the calendar with monuments, music, parades and fire.
