Local festivals in Benifaió
Benifaió's patronal festivities are usually celebrated from 15 to 22 August and conclude their cycle in honour of Santa Bárbara. Over eight days, Plaça Major, Sant Pere Apòstol church and the streets host outdoor suppers, music, games, sport, processions and fireworks organised by the Town Council, festival stewards, the parish, associations and residents.
Festa dels Fadrins and Processó del Foc
On 20 August, Festa dels Fadrins honours the Divina Aurora and centres on the Processó del Foc. The festival stewards walk in procession before the cross while holding thousands of rockets in tongs along the route; the parish, fireworks associations and local community also take part in this pyrotechnic ritual, recognised as Valencian cultural heritage.
Other celebrations: Sant Antoni and Fallas
The calendar continues with Sant Antoni Abat around 17 January, Fallas from 15 to 19 March, and Holy Week and Easter observances. Festival committees, musicians, community groups, families and traders thereby sustain local celebrations at different points throughout the year.
