Festes Majors and Crist dels Necessitats de Aldaia

Date, duration and usual places. The traditional calendar of the City Council places the Festes Majors from 24 July to 6 August, fourteen days. The events link the parish of La Saleta with that of the Annunciation and occupy the Plaza de la Constitución, streets of the urban area and cultural and festive spaces.

The central dates are 5 August, when the Baixà del Crist travels from La Saleta to the Church of the Annunciation, and 6 August, the feast of the Santíssim Crist dels Necessitats.

Traditions and participation. La Baixà, the solemn procession and the quantity of carxofa They distinguish the festivals, usually accompanied by music, gunpowder and popular activities. The City Council, parishes, clavarios and festive entities, cultural associations, musicians, neighbourhood, families and visitors participate. The Fallas and the neighbourhood festivals are different events from the patronal summer cycle.
