Local festivals in Alboraia/Alboraya
The Festes Majors de Sant Cristòfol are usually celebrated during the first week of July, with the patron saint’s day on the 10th. The historic-centre streets, Passeig d’Aragó and the fairground host processions, blessings of animals and vehicles, farmers’ breakfasts, a Moors and Christians entrance, music, sport and stalls run by associations.
Corpus and the Miracle dels Peixets
Corpus Christi forms a central part of the main festivities and is celebrated on the Sunday before Sant Cristòfol. Local tradition links it to the Miracle dels Peixets, which occurred in 1348 beside the Carraixet ravine and is also commemorated on Whit Monday.
Other celebrations: horchata and maritime festivities
The Dia de l’Orxata brings together the Town Council and artisan horchata makers for a popular distribution of horchata and fartons. Port Saplaya honours the Virgen del Carmen with a maritime procession, while Patacona maintains its San Juan celebrations by the coast.
