Local festivals in Alberic
The usual celebration of the Sant Joan and Sant Pere Fair and Festivities occupies several days in June around the 24th and 29th. Plaça de la Constitució, the Glorieta, the fairground and Sant Llorenç parish church host the presentation of the festival queen and her court, music, communal suppers, correfocs, religious events and the closing parade. The Town Council, festival representatives, societies, associations and residents take part in organising the festivities.
Sant Llorenç and Mare de Déu del Rosari
On 10 August, the Sant Llorenç festivities combine devotion to the patron saint with Nit del Meló and the Cordà of rockets and firecrackers. On the first Sunday in October, the Mare de Déu del Rosari, Alberic's patroness, is carried through the town in procession, accompanied by the parish, confraternities, local representatives, musicians and residents.
Other events: Festa de la Mona
On 8 October, the Bakers' Guild traditionally offers residents hot chocolate with Alberic's characteristic panquemado or mona. The occasion turns local baking into a community gathering and links the autumn festivities with a sweet speciality that also has a strong connection to the town's Easter customs.
