Local festivals in Albal
The Santa Anna major festivities are the usual celebration in the second half of July and culminate between 26 and 28 July. The Santa Anna chapel and its forecourt, Plaça de la Constitució and other town-centre spaces host religious observances, music, dancing, communal meals and events organised by the Town Council, associations and local groups.
Sant Blai, pilgrimage and porrat fair
On 3 February, Albal honours its patron saint, Sant Blai. The pilgrimage travels from San Carlos Borromeo Church to the Santa Anna chapel, where Mass and the traditional porrat take place. The fair associated with the feast brings together a market, crafts, local shops, food, dancing, dolçaina music and percussion around Avinguda Corts Valencianes, the Municipal Market, Plaça de l'Església and Plaça de la Constitució.
Other celebrations: Fallas and neighbourhood festivals
In March, the Fallas commissions and the local Fallas board maintain the plantà, dawn firecrackers, street parades, flower offering and cremà. Sant Antoni Abat and Sant Roc, together with the neighbourhood celebrations in the streets named after Sant Antoni and Sant Vicent, complete the municipality's festival calendar.
