Local festivals in Oropesa del Mar

The Virgen de la Paciencia patronal festivities are usually celebrated at the beginning of October and last several days. San Jaime parish church, the old quarter and the town streets host the septenary, the Pregó, a procession with a band, paella gatherings, music and bull events involving the Town Council, associations, local clubs and residents.

San Jaime and Virgen del Carmen

In July, Oropesa honours San Jaime around the 25th with several days of open-air dancing, sporting gatherings and popular festivities. On 16 July, the Virgen del Carmen travels along the coast in a maritime procession involving fishers, crews and numerous boats, watched by residents and visitors from the harbour and beaches.

Other celebrations: Sant Antoni, San Juan and San Pedro

In January, Sant Antoni brings together bonfires and popular events. At the end of June, San Juan and San Pedro welcome summer with fire, fireworks and gatherings by the sea; the distribution of coca and muscatel wine preserves a food tradition shared by associations, families and visitors in the streets and coastal spaces.
