Local festivals in Tafalla
Tafalla's patronal festivities take place from 14 to 20 August. The opening rocket begins a week of events honouring Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and San Sebastián, with peñas, music, dantzaris, gaiteros, txistularis, giants and kilikis filling the city streets.
Usual celebration
On 14 August the rocket is followed by the procession to the Salve in Santa María church. The 15th and 16th are dedicated to the Assumption and San Sebastián. Bull runs, the bullfighting fair, peña rounds, shared breakfasts, music and children's activities complete the festival cycle. The Council, peñas, cultural associations and residents participate in the organisation.
Other events
The winter celebration of San Sebastián, traditional fairs and the Tafalla Kulturgunea Cultural Centre programme maintain cultural activity through the rest of the year.
