The Virgen del Rosario Fair and Patronal Festivities are usually celebrated over several days in early October around the 7th. The floral offering, dawn rosary, service and procession share the calendar with the float parade, Migas Competition, peñas, music, folklore and activity at the Nueva Espuña fairground.

Los Mayos

At the beginning of May, streets and gardens fill with mayos, cloth figures arranged in scenes that combine tradition, imagination and popular commentary. The festival, recognised as being of National Tourist Interest, includes corremayos, music, traditional groups, neighbourhood gatherings and a craft market in La Cubana park.

Alhama's Holy Week, recognised as being of Regional Tourist Interest, is known for the floral decoration of its pasos and its Encuentros. The local calendar also includes the Candelaria, Carnival and the traditional Matanza festival, sustained by brotherhoods, peñas, cultural groups, associations and residents.
