Local festivals in Valdemorillo

The Candelaria and San Blas Patronal Festivities are usually celebrated over a week in early February. Religious observances honouring Candelaria and San Blas, the municipality's patron saint, share the calendar with cultural, sporting and community gatherings.

Bullfighting fair, bull runs and the rondón

The bullfighting fair and bull runs form part of the identity of the patronal festivities. The rondón is also danced at this time, reviving an old local dance through competitions and exhibitions involving couples and groups and preserving one of Valdemorillo's most distinctive folk traditions.

Other celebrations: Virgen de la Esperanza pilgrimage

On the first or second Sunday in June, the image of the Virgen de la Esperanza is carried from the parish church to the Valmayor hermitage. Worshippers and residents accompany the route with songs and prayers; alongside the religious observance, a countryside meal and rondón dancing make the day a popular community gathering.
