Local festivals in Loeches

The Virgen de las Angustias patronal festivities are usually celebrated over several days from late August into early September. The opening address, mass and patron's procession are joined by a giants-and-cabezudos parade, music, peña gatherings, bull runs and activities in Plaza de la Villa, the bullring and the fairground. The Town Council, parish, peñas and local residents sustain the celebration.

Dos de Mayo festivities

Around Dos de Mayo, Loeches usually holds several days of events associated with the Community of Madrid holiday. Cocido madrileño, a parade and Peñas Day bring families and local groups together between Plaza de la Villa and the fairground, alongside music, dance, sport and children's activities organised by the Festivities and Culture departments.

Other events: Holy Week and the Encuentro

Holy Week processions pass through the streets from the parish church and the Carmelite convent. The Christ and Virgin processions meet in the traditional Encuentro in Plaza de la Villa, while the Easter Sunday Encuentro is held in Plaza Duquesa de Alba. The parish, brotherhoods, Local Police and volunteers collaborate in these established observances.
