Local festivals in Nájera
Nájera's usual celebration has two main cycles: San Juan and San Pedro, from 24 to 30 June, and San Juan Mártir and Santa María la Real in mid-September.
Traditions, duration and places
The June festivities last seven days and include Las Vueltas, street music and the burial of La Venancia to close San Pedrito. In September, Plaza de España, Paseo de San Julián, the Church of Santa Cruz, the pelota court and the bullring host the opening speech, parades, masses, processions, concerts and food events.
Local participation
The Town Council, Agrupación Musical Najerense, clubs, sports groups, associations, residents, families and visitors participate. The clubs organise many of the routes, tastings and popular events.
Other cultural events
The cultural programme includes Holy Week, the Medieval Market, the San Miguel fairs, the Paellas del Najerilla competition and events connected with the Monastery of Santa María la Real and the Camino de Santiago.
