Local festivals in Tomiño
The Virxe do Alivio festivities, honouring Tomiño's patron, are usually celebrated in September, with their main day on 13 September and form the town's most important festive gathering. Praza do Seixo and other central venues host cultural events, music, family activities and a civic ceremony through which the municipality recognises people connected with community life.
San Campio de Lonxe pilgrimage
The parish of Figueiró hosts an important pilgrimage centred on the sanctuary of San Campio de Lonxe. Devotees travel long distances to venerate the saint, traditionally regarded as a protector of soldiers and an intercessor against illness. The present church was built in 1804 over an earlier chapel and has a large area for welcoming pilgrims.
