Local festivals in Mos
The Festa da Rosa, the municipality's official festival, is usually celebrated around its central day on 13 June and features cultural, sporting and food-related activities throughout the month. It began in 1973 to celebrate the Rosa dos Quirós, an emblem inherited from the Marquises of Mos, and its main setting is the historic Pazo de Mos.
Roses, empanada and local memory
The rose competition and maize empanada competition are two of its most distinctive events. Mass at Santa Eulalia church, the floral offering to the Marquises of Mos and recognition of the Valedores and Valedoras da Rosa connect the festival with local history, while rondalla groups, associations and municipal organisations sustain community participation.
Other celebrations: Entroido and parish traditions
Mos Entroido revives comparsas and traditional customs through activities spread across the municipality's ten parishes. Pilgrimages, patronal festivities and rondalla performances complete a yearly calendar closely connected with parish communities and the local voluntary sector.
